---Reader Krissy Weisgerber [krissyweisgerber@yahoo.com] was in a poetic mood and penned the following. I’m sure she’d like to hear from you!

BE AN ANGEL TODAY

Don't worry about the future and all you should do
Just feel like an angel and you'll make it through.
Imagine your wings extending out,
Softening and reassuring all who doubt.
Imagine your eyes brilliantly sparkle as you gaze,
As instantly people know they’ll see better days.
Be an angel today, you can beautifully shine
and everyone will learn how to recognize the divine.
Reach out your arms, be ready to serve,
because a touch from an angel is what everyone deserves.
Be an angel today, open up your big heart,
so that others may know where love starts.
If you are an angel today, than you will know
that God is the secret that makes angels glow!

A prayer:  “Dearest angel guardian, I desire to serve Jesus by remaining at peace.  Please obtain for me the graces necessary to maintain His divine peace in my heart.

A reader writes, "Do any of you know who the author of this poem, prayer or song that has been running through my mind?

"When we were quite young, even before we started to grade school mother had us memorize prayers, songs or sayings that she had learned as a child or when older. She was a very well read women, liked reading and memorizing authors and writers of that time and earlier even tho she did not have the privilege of an education above eight grade.

"The prayer and/or writing that has been running through my mind goes like this. . .

"Jesus Savior Shepherd hear me
Bless thy little child tonight.
In the darkness be thou near me
Keep me safe till morning light.

All this day thy hand has led me
And I thank thee for thy care.
Thou hast clothed me, warmed me, fed me
Listen to my evening prayer."

Lo!  One of you had a possible answer and has sent us some links for this prayer:

----A new prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:
St. Michael the Archangel
Powerful Spirit of Truth,
Take my hand and lead me to Divine Truth.
Protect me from all the evil in the world.
Guard me and compensate for all my weaknesses.
Change, bless, and restore the consequences of all my mistakes.
Carry me on the wings of your love and might to the
Throne of God and pray to Him with me forever. Amen.

--The photos below will give you a taste of the JoAnn Cayce Charities organization that so many of you have supported so generously through these past few years.  Mary and Larry Talken, two "earth angels" who recently visited the Cayces in Thornton Arkansas, took these photos and have given permission for me to post them.

1. The Cayce household, with the usual bagged donations on porch.  2.  JoAnn, her daughter Joannie and grandson Daniel.  3.  A new truck, purchased through your generosity, which will carry much-needed furniture and household goods to needy homes.  4-5.  Front and side views of the gym which your contributions helped to buy, which will solve the storage problem and accommodate over 2000 people at one time, for clothing giveaways.  6.  The family with Mary Talken (red shirt) enjoying breakfast.

Thank you again, from me and the people of Thornton.

www.ArchofTriumph.org  Blessed Mother is seldom seen without angels surrounding her, so Catholic readers might be interested to learn that a new Marian Shrine is being built on the shores of Lake Erie, adjacent to downtown Buffalo, New York.  The shrine will feature a huge arch, the world's tallest monument, measuring 700 feet to the tip of the golden cross that will surmount its peak.  Check out the website for more details.

A subscriber recently asked for identification of a song where the phrase "I Believe in Angels" was frequently sung.  Here are some answers our crackerjack research staff (you!) came up with:

The song is titled "I Have a Dream" and was done originally by ABBA and most recently by the Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell. Here are the lyrics:

 I HAVE A DREAM - ABBA

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream - I have a dream

The song I BELIEVE IN ANGELS was sung by Nana Mouscuri, I'm not sure of the spelling of her last name....... but she is a Greek woman - who has the most amazing voice.

Cristy Lane's album Footprints in the Sand has the song I believe in Angels   Available on Amazon.com.

I believe the song you are referring to is by Cristy Lane. www.cristylane.com It is on her "Footprints In The Sand" album. If the person desires, the song can be downloaded for 99 cents at the following site.

 http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=CD98122-2&netp_id=398335&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW

Note that there are actually TWO songs that Cristy Lane has recorded: I Believe in Angels, and I Have a Dream (which has the phrase in the chorus, see above lyrics)  Hope this settles the confusion!

Request answered!   Many of you may have heard or read a story about an American soldier in Korea, who was helped in battle by someone called Michael--only to discover that there was no "Michael" in this particular platoon.  I have the story; what I don't have is a copy of the prayer or poem that the GI refers to, while writing his mother about this happening.   A reader would like it, and I'm hoping one of you used to say it.  It starts:"Michael, Michael of the morning,, Fresh corps of heaven adorning..." and that's it.  Any clues?

Answer: Thanks to eagle-eyed subscriber Margaret Burgstaller, we found the reference.  The prayer is actually  a poem by G.K.Chesterton titled "Prayer to St. Michael in Time of Peace."  You can read it all at www.wf-f.org/StMichael-Chesterton.html.  Now, can anyone find the GI?

For the reader looking for a story about a man who gives Bibles away; and says, "See you in the New Jerusalem,"  here is a site that contains the story in its entirety.  (Thank you to another helpful subscriber):

Some of you may not know that there is an organized Presidential Prayer Team whose members pray for the particular intentions of President George W. Bush each week.  Members receive an email each week with particular intentions listed, as well as updates on other spiritual events connected to the government.  The Team's original goal was to have one million active members, but they have exceeded that goal.  If you're interested, go to: http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org

DID YOU KNOW... There is an Angel Museum at St. Clement's Church in Sun City, Arizona.  It features a display of about 2000 angels collected by Julia Chestna, a member of ACCA (see below).  Call the rectory at 623-974-5867 and arrange a time to view them.

Are you aware of the ACCA, Angel Collectors Club of America?  The club, which just celebrated its 26th anniversary, has over 600 members, with 35 local chapters, and is composed of people who love to collect angels, in any form.  A quarterly newsletter, Halo Everybody, is also a perk.  Activites include: angel paper exchanges, pen pals, secret pals and a convention every other year.  Membership dues are $20 a year ($25 for foreign members), and you can join by sending your check to: Joyce Smith, Treasurer, 234 Granite Creek Road, Santa Cruz CA 95065.  It's fun!

A smaller national club is Angels of the World International, or AWI.   It's made up of people who collect angels.  If you would like to receive 6 bulletins per year, a one-time membership pin and other goodies, please contact Suzanne Vecchiarelli at suzvecang@aol.com for more info.  Dues are a modest $10 a year.
